Burghead Cottage

Our Burghead Cottage is a fisherman’s cottage built in 1857. Refurbished to provide bright and airy accommodation just a stone’s throw from the site of the old Pictish Fort, the harbour, visitor centre and the stunning sands of Roseisle Beach.

Upstairs there is a king size double bedroom, a twin bedroom and a family bathroom, with separate bath and shower. Downstairs you'll find a separate snug with access to the small, enclosed garden, and also an open plan lounge/dining kitchen area. What we love about this cottage is, as you step out the front door, you can see the sea, in 2 opposite directions!

Burghead is ideal, not just for a beach or dolphin spotting holiday, but also for touring the malt whisky and castle trails, playing one of the many local golf courses, as well as longer day trips to places such as the Cairngorms National Park or Inverness.

bookonline3Burghead itself is situated on a promontory, jutting out into the Moray Firth. The village is self contained, with three pubs within easy walking distance, all serving delicious local fish and chips (amongst other choices!), and other basic amenities including a small corner shop, newsagents and a lovely coffee shop, The Bothy, which is now serving pizzas on weekend evenings (booking recommended!).

You are welcome at any time of the year! The summer speaks for itself, but imagine, waking up leisurely to see the sun rise, a bracing walk on the beach, which you would probably have all to yourself... You will deserve a hot chocolate and homebake in one of the many local coffee shops, before returning to a warm and cosy cottage, with gas stoves in both of the main living rooms. Then with only water to the immediate north, there is almost no light pollution. On a cloudless night, the wonders of the night sky will be clearly visible: you'll see the Milky Way, maybe even the colours of the Northern Lights 'dancing' across the skies...

The cottage is WIFI enabled, and has a phone which can receive incoming calls.

Prices
Prices range from £325 per week in the off peak winter months to £560 per week in the high summer. There is a supplement of £10 per dog, should you wish to bring one (or two!), but we do ask that they are kept out of the bedrooms and not allowed on the furniture. The price includes all linen, towels, heating, electricity and a welcome pack with the basic necessities for that first cooked breakfast.
